We are pleased to announce further fantastic support from the Royal Leamington Spa Community Grant Fund for our work here at The Myton Hospices. The Fund’s generous grant of nearly £950 will help us to fund our care for Day Hospice patients from the Leamington Spa area.
Our Day Hospice care provides valuable support for people from all over Coventry and Warwickshire, including Leamington Spa, helping patients to ‘live well’ despite the demands of their terminal illness. Day Hospice patients come to Myton on a weekly basis, for ongoing reviews of their physical health and emotional wellbeing, provided by our skilled teams of trained nurses, healthcare support workers, therapists and volunteers. In addition, patients can chat to our staff, relax and meet other local people in similar situations.
The Royal Leamington Spa Community Grant Fund is the latest organisation to help us fund this care, with donations from other trusts, businesses and individuals throughout our local area also contributing to our Day Hospices as well as many other services. We have to raise over £9.2 million each year to provide our care free of charge, and without the support of organisations like this, we could not continue to provide all of our services.
The Community Grant Fund has become a valued partner for The Myton Hospices in recent years, with an initial grant of just over £1,500 awarded in 2016 towards equipment for our Myton at Home service. We are hugely grateful to them for their ongoing support to help us to care for people in our local community.
We are also thankful for the support of many other local organisations who continue to award funding to Myton, providing valuable support to help us care for those with terminal illnesses across Coventry and Warwickshire.
