For the second year running we joined charities across the globe taking part in #GivingTuesday which is the world’s biggest one-day fundraising campaign; it aims to encourage people to think of those in need at a time of year when many of us are giving and receiving presents, and buying extra-special treats for the festive season.
Our target...
Our target was £3,000 which could support a Myton at Home nurse to visit a patient throughout December and we are delighted to announce that we raised double this totalling £6,470.10, which means you have helped us to ensure more patients can be cared for in their own home!
Raising this much money around the festive season has made such a difference in making sure we can continue providing our services free of charge.
We have been so overwhelmed with the support this campaign received, and the lovely messages from some of you who donated including this:
I have just made a donation on behalf of my sister Annie. It made me think again of how you looked after Annie and all of us during the most devastating time in our lives. Thank you to you all.
The support...
And it wasn’t just our JustGiving page which brought in the donations; we sold chocolate bars with Myton #GivingTuesday wrappers which were generously donated to us by Linsey, and Sarah and Margaret both gave up their time to collect #GivingTuesday donations at One Stop on Chase Meadow and Sainsbury’s Saltisford respectively!
Alveston Choir donated £150 which was raised at a ‘Bring and Share Supper’ on #GivingTuesday, and one loyal supporter walked to our Rugby Myton Hospice to hand in a donation in person!
Thank you...
We would like to say thank you to everyone who made a donation, shared our social media posts, pledged their time and goods, and joined in with our Pack Howl on social media!
You all have helped make sure we can continue to be there for more people and their families when they need us most this Christmas!
Feeling inspired? There is still time to support us for #GivingTuesday...
