Walk for Myton raises £37,496 for The Myton Hospices

On Sunday 15th May, 707 walkers popped on their walking boots and set out to complete their chosen routes around the Warwickshire countryside to raise money for Myton.

Setting off from Warwick Myton Hospice, walkers could choose between a casual 3 mile stroll, a longer 6 mile walk or a 12 mile hike.

On return to Warwick Myton Hospice, walkers enjoyed a relaxing afternoon with a selection of entertainment including a bouncy castle, a range of fun games and activities, live music and plenty of tasty refreshments.

We are delighted to announce that this year’s event has raised an outstanding £37,469.60 for Myton thanks to all the fundraising efforts of our amazing supporters who helped us smash our £35,000 target.

This money is more than enough to fund a Myton nurse for a whole year and will make a huge difference to both our patients and their loved ones.

We would also like to take the opportunity to thank all of the wonderful volunteers who helped at this year’s event. We wouldn’t be able to host our events without the support of our volunteers and Walk for Myton is no different so we would like to thank each and every one of you for your support.

And last, but certainly not least, we would like to thank all those who provided entertainment and refreshments for our walkers to enjoy throughout the day including Red Banger, Mr Pimms, Annie’s Antics, Fire and Earth Massage and Holistic Therapy, Jazzbo, Norm and Ivy Towe as well as Viv Porteous for taking photos on the day.

We are incredibly grateful to all those who took part in this year’s event, making it the most successful Walk for Myton to date!
