Spiritual and Pastoral Care

At The Myton Hospices, Spiritual Care is provided for all patients, carers, volunteers and staff. Spirituality is about what makes us who we are, what matters most to us, how we view the world, and how we experience hope and fear in this life.

Spiritual Care is therefore not just for people who have a specific faith or religion – we are interested and care for all people regardless of background or belief.

We provide non-judgmental listening and pastoral care for everyone and this can include providing and/or facilitating religious care when needed. All the team of practitioners, also known as Chaplains, are professionally trained and able to work with people from all traditions.

We also have links to faith leaders and representatives from around the local area who can support in providing faith-specific needs where possible.

We have an open Sanctuary space in both our Coventry and Warwick hospices and this is open and available at all times, day and night. You may use this peaceful place for prayer, meditation, a time of quiet reflection or to talk to one of our team. Everyone is welcome.

Our Spiritual Care team work across our Inpatient Units Mon-Fri 8.30-4.30 and we work in partnership with our local hospital to provide urgent out of hours support (overnight and weekends).

Out of hours, a duty chaplain can be called by staff on the inpatient units.
