The Myton Hospices is delighted to share that local artist Katie O has recently visited our Coventry Myton Hospice to create a beautiful mural within our Inpatient Unit.
The mural, which features a peaceful woodland scene with native animals and natural landscapes, has been designed to bring a sense of calm and colour into the space for patients, families and staff.
Katie O, a Coventry-based artist whose work is rooted in spreading joy through creativity, shared her thoughts on the project:
I'm an artist based in Coventry, and my work is rooted in spreading joy through creativity. It's been wonderful to work with Myton, bringing colour to the walls and a sense of nature indoors. I’m passionate about using art to connect with people, creating spaces that feel harmonious, calm and peaceful. I believe deeply in the importance of our connection to nature, and I’m incredibly grateful to have contributed to such a special place.
Speaking about the impact of the mural, Sue Medlock, Ward Manager at Coventry Myton Hospice, said:
We are incredibly grateful to Katie O for sharing her talents with us. Having this mural on our Inpatient Unit will bring smiles to patients, families and visitors during difficult times. At Myton, we strive to create an environment that is as calm and supportive as possible, and artwork like this plays an important role in that. Katie’s work has truly helped transform the space into something even more welcoming
The mural now forms part of the welcoming and supportive environment at Coventry Myton Hospice, helping to create a more comforting space for everyone who spends time here.
