Warwick artist creates beautiful mural for patients and families at The Myton Hospices

Patients, families and visitors to The Myton Hospices are now being welcomed by a beautiful new mural at Warwick Myton Hospice, thanks to the generosity and talent of a local artist.

Seventeen-year-old Phoebe, from Warwick, volunteered her time to paint the mural after connecting with The Myton Hospices while she was Artist in Residence at this year's KENFEST.

The artwork features blue forget-me-nots and pink foxgloves, inspired by the gardens at Warwick Myton Hospice. Phoebe carefully selected the flowers and colours to create a calm and uplifting design that reflects the welcoming environment at the hospice.

Phoebe was inspired to support Myton after her great grandad received care at the hospice. Creating the mural was her way of thanking the charity for the support he received.

Phoebe said:

My grandad was cared for by Myton and he really enjoyed his time there, so I wanted to give something back. I was inspired by the gardens at the hospice, which create such a peaceful atmosphere. I chose forget-me-nots and foxgloves because of their symbolism, and I wanted the colours to help create a calm, welcoming space. I hope the mural is something that patients, families and everyone who visits the hospice can enjoy.

Sharon Young, Warwick Inpatient Unit Manager at The Myton Hospices, said:

We're incredibly grateful to Phoebe for donating both her time and talent to create this beautiful mural. It has transformed the space and provides a welcoming backdrop for patients, families and visitors to the hospice. It's a wonderful addition to the hospice, and we're very thankful to Phoebe for choosing to support Myton in such a meaningful way.

Phoebe's mural is a wonderful example of the many ways local people support The Myton Hospices. Whether you choose to volunteer your time, share your skills, fundraise or make a donation, every contribution helps us continue providing specialist care for people living with life-limiting illnesses, and their loved ones, across Coventry and Warwickshire.
