Local professional boxer and our very own Myton ambassador, Lewis Williams, recently shared his personal story with thousands of visitors at the Installer Show, held at the NEC in Birmingham.
The annual event saw more than 30,000 visitors and showcased 800 companies from across the building and installation industry.
On the opening day, Lewis took to the show’s main stage to speak about becoming a volunteer ambassador for The Myton Hospices after his dad received care from our Myton at Home service.
In conversation with host David Kirk, he opened up about why Myton means so much to him and his family. Lewis also shone a light on his ‘20 in 25’ campaign, aiming to raise £20,000 for Myton in 2025, sharing plans for how he hopes to achieve it and why supporting hospice care is so close to his heart.

Later that evening, Lewis was a guest at the Installer Show Awards dinner, where 300 guests gathered to celebrate achievements across the industry.
During the awards ceremony, Lewis was invited to share more of his story and his passion for supporting local hospice care, inspiring guests with his dedication at a time when many charities are facing increased challenges.

Speaking after the event, Lewis said:
Sharing my story to large audiences is always daunting, but the reaction from everyone was amazing. I had several people come up to me at the NEC and on the night to share their own stories about losing relatives and loved ones. I’ve had so much encouragement and positive support.
It was a reminder of how many people rely on the brilliant work hospice care and Myton do when our loved ones are in need. This was a great opportunity to raise the profile of my campaign as I plan our next fundraising activity.

Throughout the two-day event, Lewis met with visitors for photos, videos and conversations about his experiences with Myton and his commitment to fundraising for Myton.
Lewis is now hoping to encourage 100 members of his gym, Clearys, along with their friends and family, to join him at our annual Walk for Myton on Sunday 14th September.
I’m so excited to be putting together a team for Walk for Myton, and I hope we can raise fantastic sponsorship to support Myton’s vital services.
