Chloe Orman has taken on something incredibly brave to raise money for The Myton Hospices and support The Little Princess Trust.

The Myton Hospices - Chloe Orman

She had her long hair chopped and donated 12 inches of her hair to The Little Princess Trust, whilst also fundraising for Myton. Chloe explained her motivation:

My grandma battled cancer for a year and during that time she lost her hair because of the treatment. Myton cared for her in her final few weeks before she died, and the care she received was so special. I wanted to do something to give back.

The Little Princess Trust provides real-hair wigs free of charge to children and young people who lose their hair through cancer treatment and other conditions. Chloe shared:

Seeing my grandma lose her hair and the effect it had on her made me realise how much of a difference a wig could make. I’m hoping my hair donation will help bring someone confidence and put a smile on their face during such a difficult time.

Alongside her hair donation, Chloe decided to raise vital funds for Myton in honour of her grandma. She raised an amazing £1,540!

Before my grandma came to Myton, I didn’t know much about the charity. I know not everyone is lucky enough to have a bed at Myton when they need it, and as a family I don’t know what we would have done without them. I hope my fundraising will help this important charity continue its work and show just how vital they are. Knowing that Myton only receives 17% of its funding from the NHS, it’s so important they get all the support they can to keep helping families like mine.

Claire McDowell, Coventry Fundraising and Front of House Lead, said:

Chloe’s decision to donate her hair and raise funds in memory of her grandma is such a thoughtful way to support both Myton and The Little Princess Trust. It will make a real difference, and we’re so grateful to her for highlighting the importance of the care we provide. Support like Chloe’s helps us continue to be here for patients and families when they need us most.

This year, we need to raise £12.7 million of the £15.3 million it costs to continue providing our services free of charge to patients and their loved ones. We are a charity, not the NHS, and we only receive 17% of our funding from the NHS, We rely on the generosity of our local community, and people like Chloe.
