Janet’s Story

We are proud to share a video of Janet McNamara talking about her time on the Inpatient Unit at our Warwick Myton Hospice.

She bravely talked about her diagnosis, why she was referred to The Myton Hospices, and why she was so anxious about coming to Myton. 40% of people who stay on our Inpatient Units return home, which is something Janet didn’t know before she came.

We are incredibly grateful to Janet for sharing her story to help others and to raise awareness of the work that we do.

After spending a few weeks being cared for by our wonderful staff, Janet was able to go home and spend more quality time with her husband Bill, their family and close friends.

A few months later Janet’s health deteriorated so she returned to Myton for a short stay. She was admitted for a third time in June; sadly Janet died at Warwick Myton Hospice on 15th June 2018.
