Advance Care Planning Workshop

The aim of our Advance Care Planning Workshop is to expand your knowledge and increase your confidence in advance care planning for your patients, or residents. The training is for all who work within Health and Social Care.

The workshop uses a variety of interactive training and the content of the workshop will include:

  • Recognising the signs that indicate an individual may be in their last year of life and when advance care planning should begin
  • Understanding the importance of mental capacity and how it relates to advance care planning
  • Understanding and using the different documents available for the advance care planning process including; ReSPECT, Preferred Priorities for Care and Advance Decision to Refuse Treatment
  • Exploring your role in the advance care planning process, how to approach and when to start sensitive conversations

We take everyone’s wellbeing very seriously.

This training covers many topics and situations at the end of life, some of which you may find upsetting. Therefore, it is important that you think carefully before booking, as to whether it is the right time for you to experience this course.
