Skin, Wound and Lymphoedema Care for Palliative Care Patients Training

The Myton Hospices Skin, Wound and Lymphoedema Care for Palliative Care Patients Training if for nurses, care workers and allied healthcare professionals.

The focus of the day is holistic skin, wound and lymphoedema care for palliative and end of life patients.

The content of the workshop will include:

  • Understanding skin and wound management in the palliative patient
  • Expert advice on choice of dressing and treatment plans in the palliative setting
  • The holistic management of complex malignant and fungating wounds
  • Understanding the causes of lymphoedema, identifying the signs and symptoms for early intervention and treatment

The clinical management of lymphoedema including: the best dressings to apply; skin care regimes, positioning and practical tips for applying and removing compression garments

This study day has been developed using the new pressure ulcer recommendations and the National Wound Care Strategy Programme 2023.
