  • What children and young people need to know
  • How to talk with children and young people
  • Supporting the families of grieving children and young people
  • Responses to grief and needs of children and young people at different ages and developmental stages
  • Suggested creative activities/strategies to use when working with bereaved children and young people
  • Resources and reading materials
  • Exploring your own experiences of loss in childhood and how this can impact us when we are supporting and/or observing grieving children

The workshop is aimed at all professionals who come into contact with grieving children and young people as part of their work.

Please note:  Participants will be invited to reflect on their own personal experiences of grief and loss, particularly in childhood.  Please consider the impact this might have during the training.  We would not recommend attendance if you have suffered a recent, significant loss or bereavement.
