‘An evidence-based training resource to enhance communication skills relevant to end of life care, advance care planning, communicating with empathy and having sensitive conversations’

This is a full day communications workshop run by Palliative Care Specialists with advanced communication skills.

It is an introduction to foundation communication skills for healthcare workers, using activities, discussion, and role play to develop strategies and a toolbox of skills to use during sensitive conversations in a palliative care setting.

Real Talk uses video of real-life conversations in healthcare settings to enable the learners to analyse, discuss and unpick some of the skills identified during the session. Once identified, these skills can be used to enhance patient care in the learner’s workplace.

It is an interactive course and, to get the most out of the day, participation is vital.

We take everyone’s well-being very seriously. This day covers many topics and situations at the end of life, some of which you may find upsetting. Therefore, it is important that you think carefully before booking as to whether it is the right time for you to experience this course.
